Your opportunityAs a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and resilience of our database infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity and accessibility across our OnPrem and Cloud environments as we scale our operations. This is a senior role where you will use your deep technical expertise to drive architectural decisions, mentor technical peers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure our data systems support the manufacturing and commercial environment.

Meaningful work you will be a part ofYour responsibilities will include:
- Drive Architectural Strategy: Advise on database architecture and validation strategy decisions for OnPrem (SQL Server) and Cloud (Azure) platforms.
- Ensure High Availability: Design and manage SQL Server clusters and high-availability systems to support critical manufacturing and development operations.
- Execute Technical Projects: Drive complex DB projects where specialized expertise is required, including Data Warehouse expansion and scaling support for new sites and shifts.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical mentorship and cross-training to peers to build technical redundancy and eliminate single points of failure.
- Optimize Performance: Monitor and tune server-level parameters, indexes, and queries to ensure optimal performance across all client databases.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure system alignment with operational goals.
- Maintain Data Security: Design and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies, including redundancy plans and encryption, to ensure data protection.
- Compliance and Validation: Ensure all database documentation and changes meet the rigorous standards required for medical device compliance (ISO/FDA).
- Consultancy Coordination: Work with external consultancy support when specialized technical input is needed for strategic initiatives.
What you bring to the teamYou will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in database administration within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience managing SQL clusters and high-availability systems in a production-critical setting.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring technical peers and sharing domain expertise.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to various departments.
- Rigor in maintaining high code quality, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace) where validation protocols are required is a strong asset.
Compensation Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
