Job Summary:

Come join the exciting world of Cat Digital and Digital Product Management! We have a great opportunity within Data Product Management to help lead and drive data excellence, stewardship and governance to support strategic growth and improve the accuracy of Customer data domain.

This open role as Senior Data Specialist will have the primary responsibility for overseeing the quality and completeness of Industry Managed Account data within Customer Master, a key strategy in achieving our 2030 goals. You will guide initiatives to ensure Caterpillar's Managed Accounts are accurately represented in Helios, gather the voice of the business with respect to data needs, and work closely with Data Product Owners to deliver on those needs. In addition, this role will have a unique responsibility to help define and create the vision for enterprise Customer Sites, which represent the physical locations where our products and services are hard at work today or we have opportunities for future sales. These Customer Sites span across industries and segments, and include, but are not limited to, mine sites, large construction sites and data centers.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the stewardship and management of Managed Account data in Customer Master, ensuring data is accurate, aligned, and visible through various dashboards and reports
  • Educate and train Industry partners in the foundational data activities needed to fulfill the broader vision and outcomes from Managed Account 2030 workstream
  • Oversee the incoming data changes from these Industry partners, collaborating with technical teams and ensuring successful completion
  • Collaborate with Industry partners to define the framework of Customer Sites, its key data elements and capabilities, through the collection of business requirements
  • Identify strategic Data Product improvements to support Industry partners in their overall operations related to Managed Accounts
  • Partner with the analytics team to proactively identify Managed Account data issues and take corrective actions
  • Effectively communicate with Industry partners and dealers on opportunities for data and process improvements
  • Champion and uphold data quality and governance standards


What You Will Have:
  • Value Realization: Basic knowledge of value realization methods; ability to plan, execute, monitor and manage business activities and resources to determine and achieve the actual value from a business initiative as estimated in an associated business case.
  • Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects: Working knowledge of data, process and events; ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events.
  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Working knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
  • Information Management: Extensive knowledge of an organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology; ability to collect and manage information from different sources, and distribute this information to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Agile Development: Working knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.


Considerations for Top Candidates:
  • Extensive experience in data management practices and data governance (typically 5-7+ years)
  • A college/university degree or 9 to 12 years of experience
  • Previous experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Excel
  • Existing knowledge of Managed Accounts and related business processes
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Strong process management skills to understand incoming data feeds and requests while also understanding the use/impact in user applications
  • Ability to have a customer focus and discern how business partners use data in their everyday world to achieve/drive outcomes
  • Working knowledge of our Cat Digital operating model and a basic understanding of Agile Methodology and Engineering delivery
  • Ability to understand complex data products and foundational architectural principles
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to derive high-level customer requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build strong relationships with consumers and Cat Digital delivery partners
  • Ability to be flexible with working schedules to meet with EAME and APD teams
  • Ability to work in a complex, rapidly changing and culturally diverse environment

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
