Job Description:

As the Manager, Logistics (Engineering), you will be responsible for leading and developing a regional logistics engineering team responsible for end-to-end supply chain and warehouse engineering solutions across multiple facilities. The Manager, Logistics (Engineering) will oversee the execution of logistics engineering strategies that improve safety, capacity, efficiency, and automation performance across various locations within the Americas network.

What You Will Do:
  • Supervise and develop a team of logistics engineers providing support across multiple Southern U.S. & Mexico facilities, ensuring alignment to enterprise logistics engineering standards and priorities.
  • Lead and prioritize engineering initiatives focused on safety improvements, capacity expansion, operational efficiency, and warehouse automation deployment across the regional network.
  • Provide technical leadership and project oversight for capital and continuous improvement projects, including scope development, cost estimation, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics related to safety, throughput, capacity utilization, and cost efficiency across supported operations.
  • Partner with facility leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering priorities with strategic business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Caterpillar engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations across all projects and operations.
  • Mentor and coach engineers in technical skills, project execution, and professional development to build a high-performing regional team.
  • Support long-term network planning and transformation initiatives, including automation roadmap development and investment justification.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

What You Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams within logistics, warehousing, or distribution operations.
  • Track record of delivering capital investment projects and deploying automated technologies such as Autonomous Mobile Robot's (AMRs), Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), and advanced storage systems.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse layout design, material handling processes, and capacity planning strategies.


What You Will Get:

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
