Full Job Description
The Role

Comfy is looking for our first dedicated product and growth data scientist. Millions of people use ComfyUI, and we're turning that reach into a real business. We need someone who can tell us what's actually happening inside the funnel, find where the leverage is, and prove what moves the numbers.

This is a hands-on, senior IC role. You'll own the analysis behind signup, activation, conversion, and retention, and you'll work directly with growth, product, and the founders. You won't sit behind a ticket queue. You'll pick the questions that matter, answer them well, and turn the answers into decisions we actually make.

What You'll Do

Own the metrics that define our growth funnel: signup, activation, conversion, retention, and how they connect

Design and run experiments (A/B tests and beyond), and read them honestly, including when the answer is "no effect"

Build the models that matter for growth: activation prediction, churn and retention, conversion propensity, and LTV

Turn messy product and billing events into clean, trusted analysis (we run on PostHog and a warehouse)

Find the leverage: the few places where a small change in the funnel produces an outsized result, and size the opportunity before we build

Make your work legible with clear metrics, dashboards, and writeups the whole team can act on

Partner with growth and product day to day, and with the founders on the bets that matter

You Might Be a Fit If You

Have several years in product or growth data science, ideally at a product-led or consumer company with real scale

Are genuinely hands-on: you write your own SQL and Python, build your own models, and don't need a platform team to get answers

Know experimentation cold, both the statistics and the judgment, and can tell a real effect from noise

Think in funnels and systems, and connect a metric to the decision it should drive

Communicate in plain language, and aren't afraid to deliver an inconvenient finding

Have built data models or pipelines when the job needed it (dbt, warehouse), even if analysis is your main game

Care about AI and creative tools, ideally as a ComfyUI user

Like a small, intense team: high ownership, low ego, fast clock

Are in SF or ready to be

Bonus Points

You've stood up an experimentation program or an analytics stack from scratch

You're comfortable with PostHog, dbt, or similar tools

You can point to analysis that changed what a company did, not just what it knew

Compensation: Base salary range is $180,000 to $250,000, plus meaningful early-stage equity. Where you land depends on experience and level.

Benefits include company-sponsored Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% coverage), unlimited PTO, daily catered lunch and dinner, your choice of equipment, and an unlimited budget for AI tools.
