About The RoleFora is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to help us run the business more efficiently. As we scale, we're looking for someone to own the growth operating model behind our forecasting, planning, and goal-setting processes, and guide strategic decisions for our founders and senior leadership team.
This is a foundational role on the Data Science & Analytics team. You'll operate as a strategic partner to Strategy & Operations, Finance, and executive leadership, helping drive decisions around growth targets, resource allocation, and strategic investments.
Key Responsibilities- Own the growth operating model used to forecast the business, run scenarios, and steer the business week to week
- Partner with Strategy & Operations and Finance on goal-setting and forecasting cycles
- Analyze our data to diagnose and explain our business trajectory and trends
- Size opportunities and model the impact of pricing changes and new business initiatives to inform where we invest
- Partner with executive leadership and founders to shape strategic company decisions and investments
- Raise the bar across the data team - mentor peers, establish best practices, and shape the team's processes, tools, and standards
Requirements- 5+ years in business data science, business analytics, or strategy and analytics. Experience at consumer or marketplace companies preferred.
- Experience building financial or operating models using quantitative methods such as forecasting, regression analysis, and cohort analysis.
- Advanced SQL skills are essential. Proficiency in Python or another scripting language preferred.
- Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data stack (e.g. Airbyte, BigQuery, dbt, Hex, Omni, or equivalents) and data modeling best practices.
- Experience using LLM tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex) to accelerate analysis and prototyping.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Deeply curious with a drive to learn.

- A collaborative and empathetic mindset with experience supporting and leveling up your peers.
CompensationCompensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $130K-$185K + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we're considering multiple levels for this role.
