Full Job Description
Wurl is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented data engineer with experience in big data and an understanding of ETL processes and data governance. Wurl's position in the video and ad delivery ecosystem generates large quantities of data that needs to be carefully ETLed and managed. We're looking for a Senior data engineer that can help evolve, productize and maintain the processes that control our data ETL and data governance processes. The ideal candidate is experienced with Big Data, SQL, Snowflake, DataBricks and AWS. Experience with OTT video, ad insertion processes, DataDog is advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities: - Evolve and streamline Wurl's data ETL processes, Business Intelligence dashboards (internal and external) enhancement, data workflows (with emphasis on scale, security, maintainability, and validation), data warehousing processes, and internal/external monitoring, alarming, and reporting. - Act as a data team representative and gather requirements from the internal customers such as data science, sales team, etc. Qualifications: - 5+ years experience with data warehouses. - Python and extra strong SQL skills. - Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent. - Proven experience building, deploying, and operating large-scale ETL/ELT processes, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and orchestrating data workflows using Apache Airflow. - RBAC/security experience. - Strong engineering leadership skills. - Understanding of professional coding practices, versioning systems, bug tracking, agile processes, etc. - Experience with SaaS offerings: Snowflake. Containerization, serverless processes, microservice architectures, etc. - Experience with effective usage of AI powered code editors, e.g., Cursor. - Nice to have: Databricks experience. Experience with streaming ad delivery, ad campaigns, supply and demand connectivity, OTT streaming formats (HLS, DASH), SSAI architectures. - Effective communication skills and team player. - Location: US remote.
