Job Title: Senior Data EngineerWe're hiring a
Data Engineer to join our team and help build the foundation of Verse's data infrastructure. This is a high-impact, zero-to-one role where you'll help design and scale the data architecture that powers critical product and operational systems. You'll work closely with engineers, data scientists or operations teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and actionable across the organization.

What You'll Achieve: A Glimpse into Your Contributions- Design, build, and manage robust data pipelines that ingest, process, and integrate data from multiple sources.
- Develop clean, well-structured data models that support business operations, executive reporting, and advanced analytics.
- Improve data architecture and storage solutions to enhance performance, reduce costs, and optimize batch and real-time workflows.
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and compliance through governance, observability, and monitoring best practices.
- Work across technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business problems into scalable, actionable data solutions.
- Own the ongoing reliability and evolution of production data products, driving projects from concept to execution.
- Operate with initiative and autonomy in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Core Skills & Experience:- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering, or data architecture.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience building complex, high-performance queries.
- Deep experience with modern data stack tools, including data integration tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airbyte), transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Proven ability to design, build, and scale end-to-end data infrastructure, including pipelines, schemas, dimensional models, analytics layers, and ML-ready datasets.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, privacy, and observability best practices.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience leading full-stack data architecture and making strategic data platform decisions.
- Preferred: Experience with data platform migrations.
- Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare or other regulated data (HIPAA compliance).

This is a hybrid role based in our New York office and will require you to be in the office 4x in a week.
