Job Purpose:We are seeking an experienced
Senior Data Architect to lead the design, standardization, and governance of enterprise data architecture within the transportation operations ecosystem. This role is pivotal in creating standardized data models, database structures, and API/event contracts that align with enterprise-wide architecture standards. The architect will partner with various stakeholders to enhance system interoperability, data integrity, and performance across a diverse technology portfolio.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities - Design, implement, and oversee enterprise data architecture strategies tailored for transportation operations systems.
- Develop standardized data and information models across relational databases, NoSQL solutions, event-driven structures, and API schemas.
- Recommend and evaluate data technologies that support system performance, data integrity, and security standards.
- Lead efforts in optimizing database and query performance across multiple platforms.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across distributed systems and applications.
- Mentor and guide team members on data architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to drive solution designs that meet operational needs.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and contribute to future-state architectural planning.
- Define, implement, and enforce data governance policies and database management standards.
- Ensure solutions comply with established enterprise information management standards.
Required Skills & Experience - 15+ years of experience in data architecture, information modeling, and database design.
- Expertise in both relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Strong background in distributed systems and middleware solutions.
- Experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka and Schema Registry.
- Prior experience in data architecture within the transportation or rail industry is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as DMBOK (Data Management Body of Knowledge) and BIZBOK (Business Architecture Body of Knowledge) is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
