Job Description:

The Senior Customer Manager is responsible for achieving profitable sales growth at a key customer for the Mars Snacking business. As well, this role is part of a customer team. This role is expected to maintain strong relationships at every level of the customer to best create and execute customer plans that deliver objectives of: revenue, growth, profit, product/assortment, placement/everyday shelving, merchandising, pricing, promotions, and seasonal merchandising. This role will work closely with internal and external partners to achieve these objectives.

Reporting to a Director or Team Leader, this role is part of the field sales organization.

This role is expected to work as a team in our Rhode Island office that covers the CVS business.

What you will be doing:
  • Create and plan customer solutions of profitable sales growth for products/assortment (everyday/ new products/promoted/seasonal), placement and everyday shelving and merchandising, pricing (everyday/seasonal/promotional), promotion and seasonal merchandising that achieve customer objectives, category leadership, and company objectives
  • Influence customer to implement solutions through fact-based presentations that deliver results that are beneficial for both customer and company
  • Complete new product launches with timely and effective execution to maximize customer impact
  • Execute all agreed-to solutions with customer to include accurate, timely forecasting and detailed follow-through
  • Evaluate/monitor all customer solutions/customer spending and continually improve to be more effective and efficient for customer and company
  • Leverage insights (data analyses, trends, etc) and resources (internal sales, CD, etc) to continually bring new growth ideas to customer and company; incorporate in all customer solutions
  • Manage customer trade funds that comply with internal and external requirements
  • Participate fully as a team member of the customer team, sharing customer feedback on such areas as customer performance, issues, learning/observations/analysis, problems, and bringing forward potential solutions


What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 5+ Years' experience in Sales or Marketing for Fast Moving Consumer Goods industries
  • Prior Retail Account Management experience. Fluent understanding of forecasting, Nielsen, and trade management systems
  • Availability to travel 10% of the time. A valid driver's license and clean driving record


The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 119,040.00 - USD 163,680.00
