Job Description

The Legal Counsel role will have a wide range of responsibility including drafting and reviewing various legal documents, providing day to day legal advice updating templates, policies and processes and advising on business transactions to support the Company's business and objectives.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • Provide day to day legal advice and counsel for all business matters focusing on development, sales, marketing and consumer financing for the vacation ownership industry
  • Assist in acquisition of land and resort properties for development as well as draft and negotiate marketing and sales arrangements with third party developers and sellers and provide on-going guidance regarding the same.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase, services, confidentiality, consulting, technology and promotional agreements, leases and licenses for all business departments as needed
  • Draft governing and related documents for existing and new resort projects, including declarations, articles, by-laws, management agreements, facility license and shared service arrangements
  • Track and monitor legislation applicable to industry, advise business partners on related relevant items and implement process changes to comply with changing law
  • Review and advise on matters related to resort governing documents, including declarations, articles, by-laws, management agreements, facility license and sharing arrangements.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
  • Provide training to business partners on legal topics from time to time.
  • Perform other related duties in support of HGV Legal and the company's goals.
  • Not a remote position. Must be able to work from Orlando office.
