Full Job Description
Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a dynamic accounting professional to perform daily reporting functions for the management company and related upper-tier structures. Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Accounting, the selected incumbent will interface with many constituencies including our external auditors, internal asset/portfolio management, treasury, acquisitions, strategic planning, and tax teams, and other internal disciplines. This position requires relevant accounting experience, with a focus on reporting (GAAP and performance reporting), but will also provide for the ability to work on special projects within the accounting and finance functions. Required areas of accounting expertise and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Complex reconciliations and allocations
  • Assisting in aspects of monthly and annual financial period close
  • Preparation of journal entries (including analysis and documentation)
  • Cost allocation analysis
  • Comparing and reconciling accounting records against budget and company forecasts
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process for the management company and related upper-tier structures.
  • Assist with consolidation-related schedules, intercompany eliminations, allocations, entity-level rollups, and support for consolidated financial reporting.
  • Prepare and support standardized reporting packages, including GAAP financial reporting, performance reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, variance explanations, and internal management reporting.
  • Compare and reconcile accounting records against budgets, forecasts, business plans, and reporting packages; identify, investigate, and explain variances.
  • Preparation of audit schedules and coordination with independent auditors
  • Ad-hoc reporting to partners/internal departments particularly related to variance analysis
  • Tracking of management company revenues and related collections
  • Running reports and supporting budgets for affiliated, owned, non-real estate entities
  • Processing of wire transfers
  • Approval and coding of invoices
  • Assistance with special projects and efficiency initiatives supported by accounting and finance discipline

Required Skills and Attributes:
  • 6-10 years of related accounting experience with a management company, preferably real estate-focused
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and remain accountable for execution
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on detail and the ability to deliver an organized work-product
  • Good communication skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, auditors, legal counsel, and banking personnel
  • Strong references required

$110,000-$130,000 USD
