About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. This position is necessary to support our growing portfolio of industrial projects in the chemical, food and beverage, and power industries. This role requires expertise in the programming, configuration, and integration of control systems, along with experience managing projects and mentoring team members. Here's a glimpse into your day to day:

  • Manage design of all levels of complexity including other electrical resources.
  • Manage existing customer relationships with the intent to foster new project work.
  • Specify, design, program and maintain automation control systems for a variety of industrial projects within the following markets: power, oil & gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage facilities, etc.
  • Share your expertise and mentor Jr. Controls Engineers.
  • Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
  • Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
  • Direct and review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers/clients to change of scope and additional services.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion.
  • Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction and control panel design drawings.
  • Develop PLC/HMI/DCS programs.
  • Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.
  • Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines. Manage installation supervision, commissioning activities, and start-up coverage.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with eight years of applicable experience...
  • OR Master's degree from an accredited university; Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with six years of applicable experience.
  • Experience programming Wonderware, iFix, Maple, DeltaV, Ovation, Siemens PLCs, Omron, Modicon, Mitsubishi, Iconics, Ignition, and Koyo is a plus.
  • Experience programming SCADA.
  • Proficient in designing, reviewing, and approving Electrical Construction Drawing sets including but not limited to instrument location plan, conduit block diagrams, PLC/HMI panel designs, motor wiring diagrams, and network architecture drawings.
  • Proficient in designing, reviewing, and approving PLC control panel and motor control panel drawings.
  • Expert in specification and programming of controls systems including Rockwell family of processors and HMI's, ability to program new applications and modify existing applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP) is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, PROFINET, and other industrial communication protocols.
