About the Job

We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant or Principal-level Scientist or Engineer for our Marine, Coastal, Climate, and Technology business area with an emphasis in environmental and ocean sciences. The candidate will lead business development efforts across a wide variety of work with emphasis on oceanographic and environmental support for coastal developments, APDES/NPDES permitting and compliance support, and applied scientific studies and logistic support while supporting multiple clients. Target areas may also include projects focused on sea level rise and coastal hazard modeling, vulnerability assessments, and adaptation planning with an emphasis on nature-based solutions as those have been focus areas for Integral. The position will include working across practices within Integral with other scientists and engineers with expertise in engineering, ecology, restoration, natural resource economics, toxicology, hydrogeology, and data management and visualization.

This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate's location and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

As a marine/environmental scientist or engineer, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

Qualifications

Candidates should hold an advanced degree in oceanography, environmental science, ocean or coastal engineering, or other marine science fields. Alaska experience and networks are required.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Consulting experience in Alaska with a working knowledge of marine-related industries and developments and an understanding of regulatory processes and policy
  • 15+ years of professional experience in environmental/marine sciences or engineering
  • Proven experience in business development including proposal writing, technical scopes and budgeting, and understanding of contracting processes
  • Experience in APDES/NPDES permitting and compliance
  • Familiarity in dredging disposal and contaminated sediment investigations
  • Familiarity with the preparation of quality assurance project plans, best management practices, and sampling and analysis plans
  • Experience with marine environmental baseline and impact studies
  • Familiarity with discharge and coastal modeling
  • Strong project management experience
  • Extensive quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

Compensation is commensurate with experience and internal equity, within the listed range. An employee's total compensation package includes annual salary; company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation; company-paid life and short- and long-term disability insurance; paid sick leave (10 days), paid vacation (20 days), and paid holidays (9 days) per year; and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
