Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant – Government Technology Modernization to join our Planning and Development Services Practice within the Local Government Practice Group. In this role, you will serve as Project Manager, partnering with client and vendor teams to assess and implement permitting and land management systems across multiple departments. This remote position will support clients nationwide and report to senior leaders in the Local Government Practice Group.

 

You will bring proven project management, organization, self-management, leadership, and communication skills while managing day-to-day requirements analysis, design, and documentation with a long-term perspective on planning and communication. Your experience with software systems, system assessment and selection, implementation project management, business process analysis, and public sector software planning will help you serve as a trusted advisor to our local government clients and a valued member of our team.

 

Travel Expectations: Up to 30% travel to client sites is anticipated.

You Will
  • Lead BerryDunn teams of business analysts and subject matter experts while coordinating with client and vendor staff.
  • Manage client service delivery to keep work on schedule, within scope, and within budget, including assigning staff and overseeing client deliverables.
  • Facilitate client decision-making and document outcomes within the project’s governance structure.
  • Help clients plan and manage procurement activities, including project scoping, RFP development, vendor proposal review, software demonstrations, reference checks, , and contract scoping.
  • Provide project oversight and quality assurance support during system upgrades and implementations.
  • Assign and coordinate tasks for internal and client teams in alignment with the project plan.
  • Communicate project and delivery status to clients, team members, and stakeholders, and facilitate client meetings.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development by writing blog posts, attending conferences, participating in industry groups, joining prospective client meetings, reviewing RFPs, and supporting proposal development.
You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with local government permitting departments.
  • Experience implementing permitting and land management software systems, such as Accela, Clariti, and Tyler Technologies.
  • Consulting experience with public sector clients at a national or regional consulting firm; relevant independent consulting experience; or prior employment with a software vendor or system integrator.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree and current project management certification, such as PMP or CAPM, or organizational change management certification.
  • Experience applying organizational change management methodologies, including Prosci.
Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $140,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
