Full Job Description

What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Enterprise Innovation team, helping shape how the bank identifies, evaluates, and accelerates innovation opportunities enabled by data, AI, emerging technologies, and changing market dynamics. The Sr. Consultant, Enterprise Innovation operates as a trusted internal consultant, partnering with stakeholders across Technology, Business Units, and Corporate Functions to solve complex business problems through insight and strategic analysis. The role applies an end-user mindset, strong business acumen, and consulting and strategic thinking capabilities to support decision-making, develop recommendations, and advance Enterprise Innovation priorities.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Insight and problem solving – understand how qualitative and quantitative data can be connected to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and business implications. You'll bring together a user-centered approach, business acumen, and emerging technology to generate insights, accelerate analysis, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Strategic advisory and storytelling – partner with senior stakeholders to frame business challenges, assess opportunities, and develop evidence-based recommendations. You'll clearly articulate research findings, translate complexity into clear language, and bridge technical problems into business problems and executive recommendations, creating executive-ready materials including briefing notes, presentations, business cases, and strategic perspectives.

  • Partnerships and stakeholder engagement – build strong relationships across Technology, Business Units, and Corporate Functions, and secure the buy-in needed to move initiatives from idea to adoption. You'll align diverse stakeholders, connect the right teams, and scale innovation partnerships that expand the reach and impact of Enterprise Innovation work.

  • Innovation and opportunity development – identify and evaluate opportunities enabled by data, AI, automation, and emerging technologies. You'll assess business value, prioritize opportunities, and help shape future innovation initiatives.

  • Transformation enablement – support innovation initiatives from problem framing through opportunity assessment and roadmap development. You'll help convert insights into practical actions that advance enterprise priorities and business outcomes.

  • Thought leadership and continuous learning – monitor emerging technology trends, industry developments, fintech activity, and innovation practices. You'll contribute to Enterprise Innovation's knowledge base, strategic point of view, and thought leadership materials.

Who you are

  • You embrace and advocate for change. You continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work. You have the curiosity and ability to leverage existing internal data, automation, and AI tools while rapidly learning new ones as they emerge.

  • You are an analytical and strategic thinker. You enjoy solving complex business problems and can connect data, research, and business context to develop meaningful recommendations, using structured thinking and sound judgment to navigate ambiguity.

  • You are end-user obsessed. You organize your work around the needs of the people you serve, clearly defining your target end users, the impact you want to create, and the actions required to achieve it. You use this lens to prioritize opportunities, guide decisions, and measure success.

  • Your influence makes a difference. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You build credibility with leaders and partners, earn buy-in across teams, and secure and scale the partnerships that extend the reach and impact of your work across the organization. You know that teamwork transforms a good idea into a great one, and you can communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You have experience in strategy, consulting, innovation, or business transformation. Experience in financial services, technology strategy, product strategy, human-centered design, or management consulting is considered an asset.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and live our values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
