Job Description

This role will support the Distribution Planning Division. The Senior Consultant will look at industry trends and identify ways to apply and integrate the engineering and technology components into new business ideas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research and identify new uses for existing industry tools and technology.
  • Identifies long-standing industry approaches and generates ideas to address or mitigate issues.
  • Integrates tools and technology across multiple engineering disciplines to address industry gaps.
  • Research, analyze, and develop novel approaches to solve customer problems and issues.
  • Considered an expert in one or more technical areas.
  • Leads project reviews and serves as company expert in business and proposal meetings.
  • Leads the proposal and bid development process.
  • Leverages relationships and builds networks to help generate new business.
  • Utilizes technical conferences, business meetings, and social media to build and extend business networks.
  • Provides guest speaker services to enable future business prospects.


  • Ability to perform work in a timely manner on multiple projects with minimal supervision; directly interacts with the client and helps expand existing and new work within the client.
  • Answers questions about processes, projects, tasks or strategic initiatives and helps others understand the how and why process.
  • Collaborate with peers (as needed) to develop and complete work products.
  • Participates in team meetings and business calls.
  • Presents technical work in assigned business meetings.
  • Attends conferences and meetings with learning, business, and development objectives.
  • Manages time within the construction of assignments and completes work by the assigned date.
  • Enter time worked in BigTime software on regular basis and submits every Friday by close of business.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Education and Abilities Required
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) college and a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skill development in Microsoft Office and other applications.
  • Effective communication skills and providing status updates or any issues with current work assignments.
  • Ability to work as an individual in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, as well as technically competent.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Ability to constructively work on multiple tasks.


  • Ability to travel up to 5%. Overnight stay may be required.


Skills and Abilities Preferred, but not Required
  • Basic understanding of fundamental electrical and power engineering theory and applications.
  • Programming skills (such as Python, C++, Matlab, Automation in Access and Excel.)
  • Experience with Circuit Analysis Software (such as CYME, Synergi, Milsoft, PSCAD, etc.)
  • Pursuing or Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
