Full Job Description
Senior Consultant to join our Operations Excellence practice within our CIO Advisory discipline.

CIO Advisory consultants help clients think strategically about talent and service delivery models, transforming operations through effective transformation management, strategic sourcing and optimizing people, process and technology.

This person will bring experience advising clients on outsourcing assessments, outsourcing RFx development, evaluation, and selection, contract negotiations, outsourcing transition, vendor governance and management, and service delivery optimization.

What you'll do:
  • Advise clients on outsourcing strategies, M&A procurement and sourcing strategies, and vendor relationships, including IT outsourcing and service delivery model optimization.
  • Serve on client delivery teams as a program manager; structure and manage your own work and the work of others within a workstream according to project workplan and Statement of Work (SOW); support functional workstream planning and execution by collaborating with team members and client functional leads.
  • Structure and lead deliverables via thorough and effective data gathering, generate sound hypotheses, and deliver high-quality analyses.
  • Lead procurement workstreams during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, and carve-outs by assessing procurement organizations, supplier landscapes, spend, contracts, sourcing opportunities, operating models, and synergy value capture to support transaction objectives
  • Work with clients to develop detailed technical / operational requirements, service level agreements, pricing strategies and approaches, and writing RFP documents.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals from a technical, operational, pricing / financial, and contractual perspective.
  • Support clients through the contract negotiation process by participating in contract negotiation sessions.
  • Perform procurement due diligence by evaluation supplier contracts, third-party risks, spend, procurement capabilities, and sourcing opportunities to identify cost savings, operational risks, integration considerations, and value creation opportunities
  • Develop Day 1 and post-close procurement integration and separation strategies, including operating model design, supplier rationalization, contract transition planning, governance models, and synergy realization roadmaps
  • Build practice area capabilities (including AI capabilities), identify and scope practice development initiatives, lead onboarding activities, and lead training delivered to the practice.
  • Regularly seek out farming opportunities and support project managers and practice leadership in the pursuit of business development goals.
  • Engage in account management processes including supporting account planning, developing and maintaining relationships with client peers, invoicing, resource allocations, and project financial management.
  • Actively participate in proposal development by synthesizing client requests and issues while mapping West Monroe methodologies and reviewing client materials to determine appropriate scope as well as potential areas out-of-scope.
  • Assist team members with their integration into the team, providing instruction, assistance, and coaching on methodologies and work approaches.
  • Model and mentor more junior-level consultants day-to-day in personifying West Monroe values with clients, on project teams, and within individual relationships.
  • May serve as a Career Advisor to an intern or more junior-level consultant.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and selecting campus and experienced new hire consultants.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant IT outsourcing, service delivery model advisory, and M&A advisory experience; preferably in a business consulting environment.
  • Previous experience managing multiple workstreams as a member or leader on IT outsourcing and M&A procurement projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create impactful and concise executive stakeholder-ready deliverables, and polished client-facing oral communication skills.
  • Strong data visualization and analysis skills; comfortable using tools like Excel to analyze data and present key insights in a compelling way.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated success within one or more of West Monroe's core industries including Consumer & Industrial Products, Healthcare (payer/provider), Life Sciences, High Tech & Software, Utilities, Insurance, Banking, and/or Private Equity.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
