National Business Resilience Team is looking for a
Senior Consultant, Risk Advisory to join BDO's Risk Advisory Services national team. This is a new role. Under the leadership of our Business Resilience Leads, you will provide crisis management guidance and services to clients in an array of sectors and you will contribute to the team business development activities, including the following responsibilities:
- Delivery high quality consulting services, with an all hazard and integrated crisis management approach, covering all components from risk analyses and audits, to emergency preparedness and response, business impact analysis and continuity, IT disaster recovery, and crisis communication to briefings and training as well as testing and simulations
- Building and delivery of strategic and operational solutions to harmonize client corporate requirements, objectives and needs, to engage all levels of employees and stakeholders in the crisis management solution, to transfer knowledge, to ensure project management with success and to lead client engagements throughout the mandate
- Building lasting relationships and development of business with new clients in addition to maintaining relationships with existing clients
- Contribution to achieve the agreed upon goals for the industry sectors
- Participation in the evolution of BDO's intellectual capital for the practice Experience in business continuity planning, including business impact analyses (BIAs), business continuity plan (BCP) development, and tabletop exercises

Your experience and education- University diploma, preferably in risk management, emergency management, business administration, or a related field
- Background in military, police, or fire services (any critical services) background
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years as a consultant or with experience in the areas mentioned above
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years in one or a combination of the targeted industries - Energy & Natural Resources, Financial Services, Public Sector, Manufacturing & Distribution and Not-For-Profit and Real Estate
- Knowledge of risk analysis, emergency preparedness and response and business continuity approaches, standards and regulations
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- You have or are able to qualify to receive Government of Canada security clearance
- Verifiable track record in the targeted industries including in building relationships
- Professional designation (ABCP, CBCP, MBCI, or equivalent) preferred. Candidates actively working toward a designation will also be considered
- Membership in risk management, emergency management and/or business continuity organizations , an asset
- Candidates with transferable backgrounds such as military, policing, or public safety are encouraged to apply
- Strong writing skills for client deliverables (reports, plans, procedures)
- Familiarity with business continuity and crisis management frameworks, including DRI International Professional Practices, BCI Good Practice Guidelines, and tabletop exercise design and facilitation
- Comfort working independently and managing multiple concurrent engagements
The expected range of compensation for this role is $68,000-$104,000 annually.
Flexibility: All BDO personnel are expected to spend some of their time working in the office, at the client site, and virtually unless accommodations or alternative work arrangements are in place.
