Senior Underwriter - Group Captives - Construction Multiple Locations At AXA XL we provide dedicated expertise to solve risk management challenges for large contractors & deliver unique solutions, significant capacity and diverse construction experience within the Group Captive marketplace. Our Group Captive team offers Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile coverage on a primary basis and project specific primary basis to General Contractors, Construction Managers, Trade Contractors and Project Owners with Group Captive specific programs. Arising out of growth, AXA XL Group Captives underwriting team is looking to add a senior level primary casualty underwriter to their team. Using your in-depth underwriting expertise you will tailor high touch effective solutions for our current and prospective clients partnering with dedicated industry experts who have extensive years of construction industry risk management experience. You will report to the Underwriting Manager of Group Captives. What you'll be DOING What will your essential responsibilities include? - Reviewing submissions including applications, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports while conducting appropriate research to determine degree of risk for each account. - Working with agents and brokers on targeting accounts which are best in class contractors - Calculating appropriate risk premiums using various guaranteed cost and loss sensitive options. - Proactively advising, assisting, servicing and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters. - Effective relationship management with customers and brokers. - Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards. - Working closely with claims and risk engineering team to provide value added services to prospects and clients. - Negotiating and working on facultative reinsurance transactions as needed - Working with the other underwriters in team on cross marketing goals and objectives. What you will BRING We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: - Advanced Construction/Commercial Underwriting Experience. - In-depth underwriting expertise as it relates to solutions for construction managers, general contractors, trade contractors, to contribute to the underwriting of the full range of Construction accounts. - Work independently with the ability to be an open-minded team player with a willingness to actively listen to comprehend unique circumstances that require practical and unique solutions to complex issues. - Outstanding insured and broker interaction with the ability to effectively target current and prospective contacts in order to effectively promote offered products. - Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with both internal teams and external brokers as you will work in a team environment, assisting underwriters and / or deal administrators as part of their overall responsibility. - Outstanding organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. - Outstanding comprehension and work experience with Microsoft Office Suite. - Bachelor's degree required with advanced education and / or professional designations including but not limited to CPCU, IIA, CRIS preferred but not required. - Willingness to travel (approximately 25% travel as necessary). The U.S. base salary range for this position is $106,500- $186,500 USD. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location.
