The Target Pay Range for this position is $84,000-105,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.The Senior Computer Hardware Engineer is a member of Antech's In-House Diagnostics (IHD) R&D Engineering team, leading the advancement of veterinary clinical diagnostic platforms. This role demands cross-functional collaboration and leadership in complex engineering projects. The Sr. Computer Hardware Engineer defines physical systems architectures and selects physical platforms to support the development and rollout of advanced digital products. This role also validates system configurations, confirms security compliance, and advises on the hardware and infrastructure needed to support our next-generation informatics platforms across thousands of veterinary clinics. Drives technology choices and maintains oversight of on-market digital products and applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Define computer hardware system requirements by partnering with Commercial, Customer Support, Service, R&D, Cloud Services, and IT to align product requirements with intended use, customer needs, and field infrastructure capabilities.
- Define physical and performance specifications based on requirements, such as CPU, motherboard, RAM, Power Supply, Cooling, and Peripherals.
- Partner with Procurement on vendor selection.
- Test, Validate and approve new system configurations (routers, printers, network topology, Windows-based computers) as part of product deployment.
- Act as SME for recommended off-the-shelf hardware, ensuring chosen platforms meet product performance and lifecycle requirements.
- Manage on-market configurations and maintain architecture of MDT for various product lines
- Validate product security requirements against system builds in collaboration with the Product Security Office.
- Manage OEM and Licensing Agreements for various products and participate in contract negotiations
- Participate in product readiness reviews, confirming that infrastructure and clinic environments support launch.
- Document configuration standards and provide field deployment guidelines for consistent and reliable installs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated deployment issues related to product hardware or system configuration.
- Provide input on future product designs from a systems perspective, ensuring scalability and maintainability in clinic deployments.
- Investigate and propose continuous improvement options and technologies
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of computer or systems engineering experience, with emphasis on product deployment and/or regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise administration.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routers, topology, connectivity).
- Familiarity with validation of security requirements and secure build practices.
- Experience with medical devices, informatics, or healthcare IT strongly preferred.
- Certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus but not required.

Working ConditionsThis is an on-site role in Antech's Loveland R&D facility. The associate will split time between a typical office environment and laboratories. Typical office environment including the use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the Internet. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Laboratories include the opto-mechanical lab, electronics lab, and the assay development lab. The associate will be trained in lab safety and will be expected to use basic engineering tools associated with small opto-electronic devices. The role will involve handling of veterinary diagnostic specimens and will require biosafety and bloodborne pathogen training. The associate is also expected to be able to be trained in the use of machine shop equipment and should be capable of independent work.
The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to make presentations and communicate with people in an office environment.
The role does not include significant travel commitments, but may require occasional travel to contract manufacturing sites, including travel on short notice.
