Job Description

As a Senior Compliance Advisor, you will play a strategic role in supporting both Sales teams and the Manufacturer by helping them understand and navigate complex regulatory matters related to insurance, individual savings, and retirement solutions. You will also contribute to high-impact initiatives that are shaping the future of the organization, while leveraging your expertise in a collaborative, supportive environment focused on growth and development.

You will be part of the Advisory Services and Partner Relations team, recognized for its legal and regulatory expertise and composed of three Senior Compliance Advisors and one Assistant Director. You will report directly to the Assistant Director, Compliance, Advisory Services and Partner Relations.

What You'll Accomplish
  • Provide advisory services on complex regulatory matters affecting the business, particularly in distribution and manufacturing activities.
  • Support teams in their projects and initiatives by developing practical, actionable recommendations.
  • Act as the steward of the compliance training offering, ensuring its consistency, relevance, and ongoing evolution.
  • Design, structure, and deliver training sessions for internal and external partners.
  • Assess regulatory risks associated with projects and initiatives and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Contribute to maintaining the compliance framework, strategic discussions, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders, as well as industry associations.


What We're Looking For
  • Member in good standing of a Canadian Bar Association or the Chambre des notaires du Québec (required).
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal affairs, or a regulatory field, preferably within the insurance, savings, or distribution sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework governing the distribution and manufacturing of insurance and savings products.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in clear and simple language.
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and training sessions to a variety of audiences.
  • Advanced French proficiency required. Advanced English proficiency is also required, as the incumbent will collaborate with, train, and support brokerage network partners as well as internal stakeholders located outside Quebec on a regular basis in a pan-Canadian context.
