  • Ensure that communications are accurate, accessible, audience-centered, and consistent with the organization's voice, values, messaging, and visual identity.
  • Work with staff and community members to identify stories, program updates, and impact information for external communications.
  • Uphold ethical, trauma-informed, and consent-based storytelling practices.
  • Coordinate external designers, photographers, videographers, consultants, and other communications vendors as needed.

Team & Cross-Organization Coordination

  • Supervise the Social Media and Communications Managers, including setting priorities, assigning work, reviewing content, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day communications partner for teams across the organization.
  • Build clear and collaborative processes for gathering information, developing content, reviewing materials, and meeting communications deadlines.
  • Monitor communications performance and use data and audience feedback to strengthen future work.
  • Provide regular updates to the Chief Communications & Fund Development Officer on priorities, progress, results, and challenges.

Organizational Participation

  • Participate in organizational events, staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Respond to emails, messages, and other correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support additional communications and fundraising initiatives as directed by the Chief Communications & Fund Development Officer.
