Full Job Description
Overview

We’re looking for a talented Commercial Counsel to join our Commercial Legal team focused on our Enterprise Sales in the Central/West AMER Region!

In this role, you will work with internal business partners (like Sales and Trust) and other Legal team members to negotiate SaaS agreements with major enterprise customers in the Central/West US, as well as LATAM and Canada. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and support strategic projects and transactions for Atlassian.

This is a remote position (you may work from an Atlassian office at your option) and will liaise directly with Sales clients and customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Join a team of six attorneys supporting our Central and West US Sales teams, as well as our expanding Canada and LATAM Sales teams.

  • Negotiate contracts from drafting to execution, including contract generation, redlining, exhibit coordination, approval escalation, record management and post-execution support and compliance.

  • Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on customer requests and contract-related issues.

  • Review customer requests and work with internal business partners to fulfill such requests in accordance with company processes and policies; seek and obtain internal approvals for modifications to standard terms or processes as needed.

  • Draft terms and liaise with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to support sales to highly-regulated customers.

More about you:

  • You take ownership, roll up your sleeves, and get things done.

  • You work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen the connection between our team and the business - with a sense of humor and resiliency, under tight deadlines, and while managing multiple priorities.

  • You can kindly and easily translate the complexities of SaaS contracting to cross-functional colleagues.

  • You enjoy getting deals done, while managing risk.

  • You effectively navigate a decentralized and complex organization spread around the globe.

  • You have a strong understanding of software technology and cloud services, associated business models, and technology industry trends, including emerging AI-related issues.

  • You think creatively beyond the “legal box” to generate possible solutions and options for the business, clearly articulating risk-based recommendations.
