Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a company focused on federal modernization, cloud transformation, and mission-critical technology initiatives. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, optimize, and sustain secure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, migration efforts, and DevSecOps operations. This is an opportunity to play a key role in modernizing critical government systems while ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure cloud environments supporting high-impact national missions.

Responsibilities for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• Design, deploy, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data workloads, and legacy system modernization initiatives
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies while supporting automated application and infrastructure deployments
• Implement cloud security, networking, monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities to maintain secure, reliable, and compliant environments
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, deployment, and performance issues while partnering with development, DevSecOps, testing, data, and migration teams
• Create and maintain cloud architecture documentation, configuration standards, runbooks, and operational procedures supporting system sustainment and audit readiness

Required Qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or related environments, with a Bachelor's degree required
• Hands-on experience with AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, and infrastructure automation
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation, and technologies such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation
• Experience with cloud networking concepts including VPCs, routing, security groups, load balancing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD security, automated scanning, and secure cloud deployment environments
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies
• Experience supporting federal modernization, Intelligence Community, or other national security programs
• Security or cloud certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, AWS certifications, or similar credentials

Compensation for the Senior Cloud Engineer includes:

Salary Range: Competitive salary depending on experience
