Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Civil Engineer (Water, Sewer, Gas) to join our team! In this role you will get to work on the premier Infrastructure project in the US.

Program background

The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project.

Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a SME/Civil Lead to join our Gateway Tunnel Delivery Partner Team with expertise in Sewer, Water, and Gas.
  • This role, based in Newark, NJ, involves leading the technical design oversight of rail bridge and elevated track projects in the NY/NJ region.
  • Support review of design submittals.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and direction on rail bridge projects.
  • Ensure project quality and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creative thinking.
  • Perform technical oversight and review duties as Subject Matter Expert on rail civil elements such as Gas, Sewer, and Water.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong utilities experience required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Demonstrated extensive previous experience working in the structural design or design management of rail and transit and/or highway bridge projects with construction budgets over $100M.
  • Extensive experience in managing Water and Sewer design on a mega project.
  • Technical expertise in Gas, Sewer, and Water.
  • Experience working with NJT, AMTRAK, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, TBTA, and PANYNJ preferred.
  • Design-build experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact with various clients and staff.
  • Adaptable to change and collaborative.

Salary Range: $157,500.00 - $283,500.00
