Full Job Description
We9re seeking a skilled and inspired Project Manager/Senior Civil Engineer to join our Transportation-Roads and Streets team in Chicago, Illinois.

In this role, you9ll take the lead on designing and delivering transportation projects from concept through bid documents and construction reviews. You9ll collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality engineering solutions that shape the communities where we live and work. Your expertise will guide technical design, ensure adherence to engineering standards, and contribute to the development of innovative, buildable designs.

You9ll also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers, support client communications, and help drive project success through your technical insight and problem-solving approach. This position is ideal for an engineer who values collaboration, continuous learning, and making a tangible impact through their work.

This is a hybrid role based in our downtown Chicago office, which is conveniently located and easily accessible via public transit. The office features several gathering spaces, a workout space, a cafe, and a food truck, with lobby events geared toward mingling and networking.

Keys to Success:
  • Plan, provide design guidance, and manage technical delivery of a variety of civil engineering projects, primarily focused in Public Transportation
  • Communicate with clients regarding current projects and collaborate with project managers and our business development team to identify and position the firm to successfully win future work.
  • Effectively direct and support technical staff to deliver projects.
  • Assist project managers in preparing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule and prepare deliverables.
  • Assist with business development efforts to cultivate strong client relationships.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor9s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered PE in the state of Illinois
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in public transportation design
  • Experience in roadway, stormwater, grading plans, and maintenance of traffic in northeast Illinois
  • Experience mentoring engineers and design technicians
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer required

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

US Pay Range

$115,000-$160,000 USD
