Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility's Rail Infrastructure division is seeking a Senior CBTC Technical Manager to join our team in New York, NY. In this role, you will act as the technical leader for CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) systems within our rail infrastructure projects. Communicating directly with the Project Management of the project, you will serve as the internal and external technical pilot, ensuring solutions are aligned with customer expectations, regulatory standards, and contractual requirements. You will oversee the end-to-end technical management of the system architecture and design lifecycle, servicing as a key driver of project success.

What your day may look like:
  • Acting as the Customer's primary technical interface: Managing and resolving system-level inquiries while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Leading systems team activities: Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables meet time, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Providing system requirements and ensuring compliance: Leveraging expertise as a "system authority" to guide subsystem design and validate system compatibility.
  • Managing technical work packages: Overseeing work packages across subsystems, operating safety, and cybersecurity to ensure seamless integration.
  • Enhancing technical solutions: Collaborating with work package owners to optimize system outcomes.
  • Consolidating equipment repositories: Ensuring subsystem equipment repositories align and comply with system-wide configurations for testing, warranty, and maintenance.
  • Leading the technical change management process: Guiding the project's Change Control Board (CCB) to resolve deviations and facilitate change implementation.
  • Preparing technical reporting: Providing detailed updates on system deliverables to the Project Manager and Customer.
  • Facilitating migration planning: Leading integration and migration efforts in collaboration with Rail Infrastructure teams.

What will make you successful in this role:
  • Extensive technical leadership experience: 5-10 years in systems engineering, rail signaling, CBTC, or complex infrastructure projects, with a minimum of 5 years in a technical role (e.g., Technical Manager or Lead Systems Engineer).
  • Team and project management skills: Experience leading engineering teams and overseeing cross-functional work packages (e.g., systems integration, subsystem management, cybersecurity).
  • Systems expertise: Experience with requirements definition, integration, validation, and migration planning within large-scale programs.
  • Customer-facing technical skills: Proven ability to act as the key technical interface for discussing and resolving customer requirements.
  • Change management familiarity: Demonstrated capability to lead technical decision-making, coordinate CCB activities, and resolve system-level challenges while meeting contractual, schedule, and budget requirements.

This position is located in New York, NY. The salary range for this position is $155,754.00 - $170,000.00 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $155,754.00 - 170,000.00 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
