Full Job Description
Auria is looking to hire a Senior Capture Manager to support the Auria's Growth Organization. This role is Hybrid position in Huntsville, AL.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

Capture Strategy and Execution
  • Lead full life-cycle capture efforts for strategic opportunities across DoW space, missile defense, Army, cyber, command and control, mission software, and ground systems markets.
  • Develop and execute capture strategies that include customer engagement plans, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, solution concepts, win themes, price-to-win analysis, and proposal execution plans.
  • Own capture plans for assigned opportunities and ensure they are actionable, measurable, and aligned with Auria's corporate growth objectives.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and pursuit recommendations, including bid/no-bid analysis, resource requirements, investment needs, risk assessments, and executive decision briefings.
  • Drive capture discipline through milestone reviews, gate reviews, black hats, solution reviews, color team preparation, pricing reviews, and proposal readiness assessments.


Customer and Market Engagement
  • Build, maintain, and expand senior-level relationships with key customers in MDA, USA, USSF, NASA, and other relevant DoW and federal organizations.
  • Develop multi-tiered customer contact plans that build sustained customer intimacy and improve Auria's understanding of mission needs, acquisition strategies, program gaps, and competitive dynamics.
  • Shape opportunities early by helping customers understand Auria's capabilities, discriminators, prior performance, and mission value.
  • Maintain awareness of customer budgets, acquisition timelines, emerging requirements, procurement vehicles, and mission priorities.
  • Represent Auria at industry days, technical exchanges, customer meetings, conferences, and partner engagements, particularly in the Huntsville defense and space ecosystem.


Industry Teaming and Competitive Positioning
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the defense industrial base, including large primes, non-traditional defense companies, small businesses, technology partners, and specialty subcontractors.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate teaming strategies that improve Auria's probability of win and strengthen the overall solution.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and black hat assessments to understand likely bidders, customer perceptions, incumbent positions, price pressures, and technical differentiators.
  • Position Auria as either prime or strategic subcontractor depending on the opportunity, customer environment, and best path to win.


Solutioning and Proposal Leadership
  • Work closely with business unit leaders, technical SMEs, program managers, pricing, contracts, finance, recruiting, security, and proposal teams to develop credible and compelling solutions.
  • Translate customer mission needs into clear value propositions, solution discriminators, win themes, strengths, and proposal messaging.
  • Support development of executive summaries, technical and management approaches, staffing strategies, past performance narratives, and oral presentation materials.
  • Analyze draft and final RFPs, RFIs, OTAs, CSOs, IDIQ task orders, and other solicitation materials to support proposal schedules, compliance matrices, outlines, and response strategies.
  • Ensure capture knowledge transitions effectively into proposal execution and that win themes, customer insights, and solution strategies are reflected across all proposal volumes.


Pipeline and Growth Accountability
  • Maintain ownership of assigned opportunities within Auria's pipeline and ensure opportunity data, capture status, customer intelligence, and financial assumptions are accurate and current.
  • Support pipeline reviews and executive briefings with clear recommendations, risk areas, next steps, and investment needs.
  • Help identify white-space growth areas aligned to Auria's capabilities in space mission management, missile defense, ground systems, software-defined communications, cyber, AI/ML, and mission operations.
  • Support corporate growth planning by identifying new markets, adjacent customers, emergent


WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance; active Secret or higher clearance preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, science, national security, acquisition, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, capture management, program management, acquisition, engineering, or related federal market roles.
  • 7+ years of direct capture, business development, or customer-facing growth experience supporting U.S. Government, DoW, or defense industry customers.
  • Demonstrated experience capturing complex federal opportunities, including full and open competitions, prime pursuits, strategic subcontractor roles, OTAs, CSOs, IDIQ task orders, and multi-award contract vehicles.
  • Strong customer relationships and market knowledge within one or more of the following: Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Army, U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command, NASA, or related Huntsville-based defense and space organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong government, prime contractor, partner, and industry relationships.
  • Experience developing capture plans, customer call plans, win strategies, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, price-to-win inputs, and executive pursuit recommendations.
  • Experience reading and analyzing RFIs, RFPs, draft solicitations, statements of work, evaluation criteria, compliance requirements, and acquisition documentation.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, OTAs, CSOs, IDIQs, and federal acquisition processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, writing, briefing, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed growth environment.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • Existing senior relationships with customers and industry partners in the Huntsville, Alabama market.
  • Deep knowledge of MDA, USA, USSF, or related mission areas, including missile defense, space operations, command and control, mission software, ground systems, cyber, AI/ML, and advanced communications.
  • Proven record of leading captures that resulted in significant awards.
  • Experience supporting both prime and subcontractor capture strategies.
  • Experience with Shipley, Lohfeld, or other recognized capture and proposal methodologies.
  • Master's degree in business, engineering, national security, acquisition, or related discipline.
  • Capture Management certification, PMP, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Prior experience working for a defense contractor, space company, federal systems integrator, MDA/USA/USSF program office, or related mission organization.


PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $175 - $225,000
