The Opportunity
As a Senior Project Manager, you will plan, direct, manage, and oversee assigned design and construction projects to ensure delivery within established schedules and budgets. You will lead the execution of small to large capital improvement and build projects while coordinating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, customers, and third-party project management resources. The role is responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, project execution, invoicing oversight, and project closeout activities. You will support initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness and building maintenance performance while ensuring alignment with company procedures, contract requirements, quality expectations, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. By managing project scope, costs, schedules, stakeholder relationships, and continuous improvement activities, you will help deliver corporate real estate and facility projects that support operational performance and long-term business goals.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead project planning activities and strategy development with project teams and stakeholders.
- Provide oversight of third-party project management firms and resources to support project delivery and milestone achievement.
- Develop capital investment budgets and support pricing activities for future projects and initiatives.
- Prepare project scope, schedules, financial documentation, and risk management plans.
- Monitor project performance to maintain control of scope, budget, schedule, and delivery requirements.
- Manage project risks and ensure mitigation plans are developed and implemented.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Ensure project closeout activities are completed and lessons learned are captured and shared for continuous improvement.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (construction) or a combination of education, experience, and demonstrated accomplishments.
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven skills and abilities relating to project and program execution in corporate real estate construction, capital improvement, and facility projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Project Management or similar tools and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Forma (ACC), reporting tools, and construction-related tools.
