Job Description
Role Overview: Senior Business Systems Analyst
Arlington, VA | In office, Monday – Friday
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is a hands-on role focused on the administration, support, and continuous operation of key financial and operational systems.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring systems are reliable, well-maintained, and aligned with SOX and ITGC controls, with a strong emphasis on day-to-day application ownership, user support, and configuration management across platforms such as Oracle EPM, Concur, and Stripe.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Systems.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the analyst will actively support the administration and day-to-day operations of critical financial systems, with a primary focus on application functionality, user support, performance, and stability. Responsibilities include managing user provisioning, roles, and security groups within Oracle EPM Cloud and Planning, supporting metadata updates and hierarchy maintenance, and assisting with forecasting and budgeting cycles. The analyst will perform system administration activities such as environment refreshes, backup coordination, and routine maintenance, while also supporting Oracle Cloud ERP-related access management and configuration tasks.
The role also includes supporting Concur expense management by maintaining configurations such as expense policies, mileage rates, per diem structures, and user roles, along with providing ongoing user support and issue resolution. Across additional systems—including Cognos, AppZen, Stripe, and Navan—the analyst will assist with user administration, reporting support, operational processes, and troubleshooting, while coordinating with vendors as needed.
In addition to system administration responsibilities, the analyst will handle access management tasks by processing user provisioning, deprovisioning, and role changes through ticketing systems, ensuring all access is properly approved, documented, and compliant with internal controls. The role requires maintaining system documentation and supporting knowledge management efforts to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.
From a compliance perspective, the analyst will support SOX and ITGC control activities, including user access reviews, audit evidence collection, and documentation maintenance. The individual will help ensure systems remain audit-ready by maintaining accurate records of access and system changes, and supporting remediation efforts, when needed.
The position also contributes to system governance and change management activities by participating in user acceptance testing, helping assess the impact of system updates on operations and controls, and supporting updates to procedures and internal documentation. Throughout all responsibilities, the analyst will collaborate closely with Finance, IT, and Compliance teams, providing responsive support to users and clear communication regarding system issues, enhancements, and ongoing operational activities.
