Pay Details:

Lead Compensation Technology activities supporting compensation programs and platforms, including Workday, Varicent, and related compensation solutions. Plan, manage, and lead requirements gathering, solution design, and application lifecycle activities for key compensation initiatives, annual and off-cycle compensation cycles, and system enhancements. Lead business testing, operational readiness, operational support, and change management activities to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing optimization of compensation processes within business-as-usual operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER
  • Responsible for the intake of compensation technology projects, major initiatives, annual compensation cycle enhancements, and regulatory or business-driven changes
  • Responsible for the documentation of all business owned artifacts that are required for projects and major initiatives as defined by TD's Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC) methodology
  • Responsible for all Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) documentation required for projects, system enhancements, annual compensation cycles, and major initiatives in accordance with the bank's project delivery methodology
  • Work closely with the Test Lead to ensure common testing standards and practices are followed and adhered to
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of BAT activities for compensation technology projects, application releases, annual compensation cycle changes, and production maintenance activities
  • Responsible for working with various teams to establish a partnership and ensure all business requirements and Data Governance requirements are met
  • Provide support for deployment and change management activities related to compensation programs, technology enhancements, and system implementations
  • Review requirements specifications, configuration designs, and technical documentation to provide timely and meaningful feedback and ensure alignment with business objectives and compensation policies
  • Provide recommendations and possible solutions to address operational challenges, system issues, process inefficiencies, and risks throughout the lifecycle of compensation programs, projects, and applications
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks that could impact compensation program delivery, annual compensation cycle timelines, data integrity, compliance, system stability, or project outcomes; provide options and recommendations for mitigation
  • Act as an escalation point for compensation application, operational, and processing issues, coordinating resolution with internal stakeholders, technology partners, business teams, and external vendors as required


SHAREHOLDER
  • Act as a key decision-maker for compensation technology initiatives, annual compensation cycles, and system enhancements, collaborating with Compensation, HR, Payroll, Technology, and business subject matter experts to make informed business decisions
  • Accountable for ensuring compensation projects, enhancements, and operational activities adhere to the EPMO project delivery methodology, governance standards, and control requirements
  • Ensure adherence to the Data Governance Framework
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements under Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and the Office of the Chief Data Officer
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships within the team and with key stakeholders
  • Continuously enhance expertise in compensation technology platforms, including Workday, Varicent, and related applications, while remaining current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
  • Support business case development for compensation technology investments, process improvements, and strategic initiatives, including identification of business value, efficiencies, risk reduction, and operational benefits
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, increase automation, improve the manager and colleague experience, and optimize compensation technology capabilities across the enterprise.

  • Expert-level professional role requiring deep knowledge of compensation programs, and compensation technology, with a strong understanding of related HR, Payroll, and HR Technology functions
  • Integrates business strategy, regulatory requirements, compensation principles, and broader organizational objectives into advice and solution recommendations
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in Compensation Delivery providing guidance and consultation to business partners, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of compensation applications and platforms, including system functionality, business processes and rules, integrations, data flows, controls, security considerations, and reporting capabilities
  • Expert knowledge of bank's PDLC methodology, business testing and project management
  • Extensive understanding of compensation programs, annual compensation cycles, incentive compensation plans, compensation governance, and applicable business processes across the organization
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex compensation, operational, and technology-related challenges involving multiple variables and stakeholder groups
  • Applies advanced methodologies and business expertise to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement
  • Leads medium to large-scale compensation initiatives, technology enhancements, and operational programs with moderate to high complexity, risk, and cross-functional impact
  • Coordinates and prioritizes multiple initiatives
  • Works independently as a senior lead and may provide coaching, and guidance to team members and project participants within area of expertise
  • Reports to a Senior Manager


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Technology, Business Analysis, Application Management, or related operational and technology support functions
  • Strong knowledge of compensation-related systems and applications, including Workday, Varicent, or similar HR and compensation technology platforms (certifications are considered an asset)
  • Experience using Agile delivery methodologies and practices is considered an asset
  • Experience leading Business Acceptance Testing (BAT/UAT), change management, release management, and deployment activities for system enhancements and business initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into effective operational and technology solutions
