GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Senior Business Analyst is an experienced IT functional systems analyst, project leader,
and internal consultant responsible for improving and enabling business capabilities across
allocation applications and related retail planning systems. This role partners closely with
business stakeholders, IT teams, and delivery partners to facilitate process and system
improvements, influence solution direction, and support the successful delivery of high-impact
initiatives. The Senior Business Analyst coordinates the efforts of internal and external partners
in both the support of existing production systems and the execution of new projects, and serves
as a senior functional expert in one or more disciplines.
The base salary range for this role is $99,900 - $163,950. The base salary range is
dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications,
relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one
component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by
position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead cross-functional efforts with internal and external technical teams, vendors, and
key business users in the support of existing systems and the delivery of
Merchandising, Planning, and Allocation initiatives by translating business strategy
and needs into actionable solutions.
• Lead analysis of business processes, services, application capabilities, and technologies
by facilitating workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions to gather detailed
requirements, refine use cases and user stories, and translate them into effective
solutions.
• Drive alignment across business stakeholders, IT, business, support teams, and vendors
by communicating complex concepts clearly, building strong partnerships, and
influencing solution direction and delivery outcomes.
• Own and maintain business requirements, functional designs, user stories, and backlog
items for related systems within the assigned functional area.
• Lead or coordinate efforts in the support of existing production systems by defining
and prioritizing system issues and enhancement requests, analyzing root causes,
coordinating support and development activities, and supporting testing and validation
of fixes and enhancements.
• Provide Tier 0/Tier 1 functional guidance and senior functional leadership to business
partners regarding process, system behavior, and data flow logic.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, application analysts, and vendors to influence
solution designs, review wireframes or other design artifacts where applicable, and
ensure solutions align with business needs, technical standards, and enterprise
architecture.
• Prepare and deliver analyses, options, recommendations, and communications for
stakeholders, project managers, and leadership, ensuring progress, risks, and outcomes
are conveyed clearly and accurately.
• Create and maintain functional specifications, process maps, swim lane diagrams,
system context diagrams, data flow diagrams, test support materials, user guides, and
reference documentation, ensuring materials remain current as systems evolve.
• Support change management and continuous improvement by promoting user adoption,
identifying process improvement opportunities, and helping strengthen BA practices,
delivery processes, and documentation standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field,
or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting IT systems, processes, or capabilities in a
complex, highly integrated environment, preferably in retail, planning, allocation,
merchandising, or supply chain domains.
• Strong understanding of business analysis practices, including process mapping,
requirements elicitation, use case and user story development, and functional
documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes,
evaluate impacts, and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with
technical and non-technical stakeholders, lead cross-functional discussions, and drive
alignment.
• Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts,
with experience working closely with engineers, developers, and delivery teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to
detail, consistency, and follow-through.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Power BI,
Tableau, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with ERP or merchandising systems such as Oracle Retail, SAP, or Blue
Yonder, including integrations with planning, forecasting, and allocation-related tools.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency
and accuracy in analysis, documentation, and execution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Experience working with wireframing tools.
• Prior experience supporting allocation, planning, merchandising, or supply chain systems
in a retail environment.
• Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder Allocation systems, documentation repositories, or
related support and analysis tools.
• Familiarity with SQL for analysis, validation, or troubleshooting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person
meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role is a hybrid position that requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, and/or feedback. However,
