POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Business Advisor, Operations delivers both standard and customized advisory mandates focused on improving business performance through process optimization, digital enablement and intelligent use of management systems and data.

This role targets experienced professionals who can bridge business processes, technologies (ERP, operational systems, analytics, AI) and change management to help SMEs increase productivity, scalability and decision quality.

The Advisor manages end-to-end project delivery, acts as a subject matter expert, supports solution development and, when required, contributes to business development activities.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Deliver standard and customized advisory mandates focused on:
    • Business process optimization
    • Operational performance improvement
    • Digital transformation of operations
    • Use of data, automation, and AI to support decision-making
  • Design and implement pragmatic, technology-enabled solutions adapted to SME environments, including:
    • Optimization of management systems (ERP, MES, CRM, WMS, BI tools)
    • Integration of digital tools for planning, execution, and performance monitoring
    • Identification of high-value use cases for automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery:
    • Define scope, objectives, roadmap, and deliverables
    • Monitor budget, schedule, risks, and quality
    • Ensure measurable client impact and professional standards
  • Act as a subject matter expert in operational efficiency and digital operations:
    • Stay current on trends in management systems, data, automation, and AI
    • Contribute to methodologies, tools, and service offerings
  • Contribute to business development:
    • Support client diagnostics and needs assessments
    • Provide input to proposals and solution design
    • Support positioning of technology-enabled solutions with clients
  • Collaborate with internal partners (Client Partners, Account Managers, Consultants, Business Advisors):
    • Share knowledge and best practices
    • Co-deliver complex mandates
    • Build internal capabilities in digital operational excellence
  • Participate in practice visibility and outreach:
    • Develop thought leadership and marketing content

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in consulting or advisory roles with demonstrated experience in:
    • Business process re-engineering
    • Operational performance improvement
    • Digital transformation of operations
  • Proven experience in business process analysis and optimization
  • Experience managing consulting or advisory mandates end-to-end (scope, deliverables, timelines, budget, risks)
  • Knowledge of management and operational systems, including at least one of the following categories:
    • ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Acomba)
    • MES, WMS, or CRM systems
    • Business intelligence tools and performance dashboards
  • Experience translating business requirements into actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with IT teams, software vendors, or digital specialists
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel within a limited geographic area and occasionally across Canada


Preferred qualifications

  • MBA or relevant professional designation
  • Experience in technology selection, system implementation support, or system optimization
  • Experience identifying and implementing use cases for:
    • Data analytics
    • Process automation
    • Artificial intelligence in an SME context
  • Experience working with SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises)
  • Experience contributing to business development activities (e.g., proposals, client presentations)
