Summary

This position is located at Treasury Office of the Inspector General, Budget and Procurement Division. As a Senior Budget Analyst, you will plan, formulate, execute, analyze, and oversee the OIG budget and all associated financial operations and perform complex analytical and advisory work involving multi-fund appropriations, reimbursable activity, interagency agreements, acquisition-related financial management, workforce modeling, and enterprise-level initiatives.

As a Senior Budget Analyst, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate enterprise-wide budget operations, including briefings, reviews, and financial analyses for OIG senior leadership.
  • Develop budget estimates, multi-year projections, and supporting documents for Treasury, OMB, and Congress.
  • Manage execution of appropriated and reimbursable funds, ensuring compliance and optimal fund utilization.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of IAAs, ensure accurate fiscal accounting, and coordinate with Treasury, BFS, and external agencies.
  • Lead Position Budget Management, including payroll projections, staffing models, and reconciliation of personnel obligations.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  • Experience performing budget formulation, execution, and reprogramming activities, including analyzing budgetary data, monitoring obligations and expenditures, and developing recommendations to support organizational priorities; AND
  • Experience interpreting and applying budget laws and principles, regulations, policies, guidance, and appropriations requirements, to provide authoritative budget and financial management advice to senior leadership; AND
  • Experience developing budget estimates, financial analyses, forecasts, and justifications, and presenting recommendations to executive leadership and other stakeholders to support agency budget planning and decision-making.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
