Full Job Description
JMM is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our Billing Department in Century City. The Senior Billing Specialist will work closely with the Billing Manager, attorneys, clients, and other members of the Billing Department to manage the preparation, review, and submission of a high volume of monthly prebills and invoices. This role will also support complex billing matters, e-billing processes, client billing requirements, rate maintenance, and the resolution of billing-related issues. Essential Duties • Partner with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders to prepare, review, edit, and finalize a high volume of monthly prebills and invoices in accordance with Firm and client-specific billing requirements. • Oversee the prebill process from issuance through completion, proactively tracking outstanding prebills and following up with attorneys and other stakeholders to support timely invoice submission. • Leverage your organizational skills to manage multiple billing addresses, split bills, multi-payer matters, consolidated and multi-matter billing, and other specialized client requirements. • Utilize your e-billing experience to manage e-billing setup and maintenance, submit and track rates, monitor the approval process, and ensure compliance with client billing guidelines. • Investigate, resolve, and appeal e-billing rejections while partnering with attorneys, clients, and third-party vendors to address billing issues. • Apply your attention to detail to maintain accurate client and matter billing information, including billing addresses, rate structures, special billing requirements, and client guidelines within the Firm's billing system. • Support the Billing Manager with day-to-day departmental operations, special projects, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. • Demonstrate excellent client service by assisting with incoming client and attorney emails and work collaboratively with the Billing Department to provide timely, responsive service. Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment. • Experience with Aderant, Elite, or another comparable legal billing system preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Position: Non-Exempt Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first 30 days, then 4 days per week onsite, 1 day remote thereafter. Salary: $95k - $105k base
