Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position.

The Cloud Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes deploying AWS services in a modern, fully automated manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot compute assets in AWS and Azure
  • Compose new Terraform code and/or edit existing code for the deployment of AWS resources
  • Take an automation-first approach to the administration and configuration management of resources deployed in AWS GovCloud
  • Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server instances and their AMI lifecycle
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies as a member of a highly functioning Agile engineering team
  • Create, maintain, and update relevant system documentation as required


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related STEM discipline and 9+ years of general IT experience, or an Associates degree and 11 years of general IT experience, or a High School Diploma and 13+ years of general IT experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience completing tasks relevant to cloud engineering
  • Must have an associate-level AWS certification (ex. AWS CSAA) or higher
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification (ex. Sec+)
  • Experience in RHEL OS and/or Windows Server with knowledge in maintaining them
  • Experience automating production cloud deployments/administration with tools like Terraform and/or Ansible


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer-facing roles
  • 3+ years of production Terraform experience
  • Experience working with GitHub or similar system and Git


Clearance Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations


The projected compensation range for this position is $105,900.00-$177,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
