We are seeking Senior Automation Scientist to join IQVIA Laboratories at Durham, NC.Job Summary:Design, build, and scale laboratory automation that advances bioanalytical ligand binding testing through robotic sample handling, automated preparation, instrument integration, and workflow orchestration. In this hands-on role, you will partner with scientists and Quality to deliver reliable, traceable, and compliant automated workflows in a regulated laboratory environment.
What You'll Be Doing:- Design and implement automation cells for liquid handling, robotic integration, plate movement, and barcode-enabled sample tracking
- Integrate laboratory instruments with digital systems such as LIMS, ELN, scheduling tools, and data capture platforms
- Develop control logic, scripts, and interfaces that support automated workflows, exception handling, and error recovery
- Build and maintain monitoring capabilities for uptime, throughput, logs, dashboards, and alerts
- Translate assay steps into robust and scalable automation protocols in partnership with laboratory scientists
- Support validation documentation, audit readiness, and change control activities in collaboration with Quality
- Drive continuous improvement by reducing failure modes, simplifying maintenance, and improving cycle time
What We Are Looking For:- Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering or related field required
- 5+ years in laboratory operations, lab transformation, automation programs, or digital lab systems
- Hands-on experience with lab automation platforms such as liquid handlers and robotic integration systems
- Proficiency in scripting or programming for automation and integration using Python, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $62,000.00 - $129,100.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
