Full Job Description
As a Senior Automation Engineer supporting the MTO ASPEX Team at our Manufacturing Facility in Fort Worth, TX, specifics include:

  • Technical lead and project manager implementing the latest technological advancements in manufacturing processes such as integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) systems, vision inspection systems, cobots, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), fully automated end-of-line packaging systems (case erecting, packing, sealing, and robotic palletizing), and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
  • Programs PLC's (Allen Bradley and Siemens) and provides software changes updates support to manufacturing systems such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals (ATTP).
  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for equipment installation.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Develops user and design requirements, selects equipment vendors, or completes the technology design and equipment build.
  • Manages the installation of automation systems while ensuring safety, and validating the automated system for adherence to requirements, CGMPs, and intended system operation.
  • Supports Automation Technicians in situations where troubleshooting or technology may fall outside of their area of expertise.
  • Interacts with production supervisors/managers to identify areas to improve equipment throughput, flexibility, quality, safety, and/or reliability.
  • Implements automation solutions resulting from manufacturing non-conformance investigations or CAPA assignments.
  • Plans and executes engineering project work with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots equipment/process control systems and change control activities.
  • Manages multiple capital projects, including s.
  • Designs and implements modifications to the existing manufacturing equipment that will improve the operational efficiencies.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of relevant experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Background in engineering (electrical, chemical, mechanical, biomedical), computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering.
  • Relevant experience with manufacturing medical devices.
  • Hands on experience with PLCs and CAD design.
  • Project Management experience.
