Position Overview:
Drives the identification, evaluation, and management of multi-stage venture investments and strategic partnerships that advance Sutter Health's digital health, medical technology and artificial intelligence (AI) innovation efforts. Acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, with responsibility for shaping investment theses, contributing to strategic recommendations, and supporting portfolio-level outcomes across investment and partnership initiatives.

****Please Note: While this position is listed as hybrid, regular in-office attendance is required. Candidates should be prepared to commute to the San Francisco office on a consistent basis to support team collaboration and business needs.****

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, life sciences, public health, or a related field.


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 6 years of recent, relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, healthcare technology, or healthcare innovation roles


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including Excel-based financial modeling
  • Understanding of venture investment mechanics, including term sheets, cap tables, transaction documentation and processes
  • Familiarity with healthcare delivery, digital health, and/or health IT markets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce and present executive-ready materials
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous environments with incomplete information
  • Highly organized self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking and problem-solving ability, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Pay Range is $145,204.80 to $217,796.80 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
