Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Investment Accountant to manage accounting reconciliation for assigned investment accounts. This role involves handling daily transaction activity, addressing client inquiries, and analyzing complex accounting issues. The ideal candidate will lead projects, develop expertise in investment accounting principles, and assist in training new team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform accounting reconciliation for investment accounts, ensuring accurate records in alignment with clients' custodial books.
  • Address inquiries and requests from both external and internal clients promptly and effectively.
  • Analyze complex accounting issues and act as an escalation point for the team.
  • Lead or participate in various projects and ad hoc tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to reconciliation policies and recommend process improvements to senior staff.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in investment accounting principles.
  • Serve as backup for investment accountants when coverage needs arise.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new investment accountants.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • Progress towards an MBA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
  • 5-6 years of experience in an investment accounting role required.
  • 4+ years of experience in an investment management firm.
  • Strong quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • In-depth understanding of supporting institutional client accounts.
  • Detail-oriented with strong task prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, persistence, and independent judgment.
  • Commitment to satisfying internal and external customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to understanding others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
