Team Overview

Aksia's private equity investment team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and investing in private equity primary funds, co-investments, and secondaries. The firm's private equity investment professionals oversaw $115 billion of private equity assets under supervision as of December 31, 2025.

Position Overview

Aksia is seeking a Senior Associate or Associate to join its Venture Capital/Growth Equity Investment team in San Diego, California. The role will focus primarily on venture and growth primary fund investments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals and collaborate across the broader private equity platform, including co-investments and secondaries.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative fund due diligence, including detailed performance and attribution analysis
  • Prepare investment memorandums and supporting materials for presentation to Aksia's Investment Committee
  • Collaborate closely with the dedicated co-investment team in sourcing and evaluating opportunities
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and relevant macroeconomic factors impacting private equity markets
  • Support ongoing portfolio monitoring activities, including manager reviews and performance analysis
  • Build and maintain relationships with general partners and industry participants to support a robust and active investment pipeline

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academics in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience at an institutional investment firm, asset manager, or other financial institution with exposure to underwriting private equity fund investments
  • Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent qualitative assessment skills, with the ability to identify, synthesize, and communicate key investment merits and risks
  • Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, integrity, and commercial judgment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, global environment

Base Pay/Salary
  • The estimated base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 which is specific to California and may change in the future. Aksia pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
