The Corporate Services Technology organization is seeking an experienced Application Architect to support Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Government Affairs, Humana Foundation, and Corporate Communications.
This role is ideal for a proactive, self-motivated technology leader who thrives in a complex enterprise environment and can effectively partner across multiple business and technology functions. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, helping drive technology strategy, modernization, innovation, and operational excellence across the Corporate Affairs portfolio.

The Senior Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in application architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise technology leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Experience evaluating enterprise software platforms, cloud technologies, integration solutions, and modern application architectures.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, governance practices, and practical business applications.
  • Experience supporting information security, data governance, privacy, and Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) requirements.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while balancing business priorities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design efforts for enterprise applications, integrations, and digital solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technology liaison across Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Government Affairs, Humana Foundation, and Corporate Communications.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled solutions while ensuring appropriate governance, security, and responsible use practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Information Protection (EIP), cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex application and production support issues.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to implement scalable, secure, and supportable solutions.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$106,900 - $147,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
