Job Title: Software Solution Architect 6 IoT, Cloud & DevOps (Healthcare)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Solution Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and compliant connected healthcare solutions integrating medical IoT devices with public cloud infrastructure. This role requires a highly adaptable individual who thrives in ambiguity, can shape loosely defined problems into actionable architectures, and drives execution across cross-functional teams using strong DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end healthcare IoT solutions connecting medical devices to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Translate ambiguous business and clinical requirements into clear, scalable, and secure technical architectures
- Lead solution definition from concept through production, including rapid prototyping and iterative refinement
- Architect secure data pipelines for ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics of clinical and operational data
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH Act, and other applicable regulations
- Establish and drive DevOps and DevSecOps practices across build, test, deploy, and operate phases
- Define and implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and GitOps workflows
- Design for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery, aligned with healthcare SLAs
- Ensure security by design, including encryption, identity management, zero trust, and auditability
- Implement observability frameworks (Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) for proactive monitoring and incident response
- Define containerization and orchestration strategies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Enable automated operations, including monitoring, alerting, and self-healing systems
- Drive build vs. buy decisions, technology selection, and architecture governance
- Collaborate with engineering, clinical, regulatory, and operations teams to deliver solutions
- Mentor teams and influence adoption of best practices in architecture and DevOps
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in software engineering/architecture with strong cloud-native and DevOps experience
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
- Experience leading end-to-end solution design without fully defined requirements
- Strong expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with IoT ecosystems (device connectivity, MQTT, edge computing)
- Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps
- Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with NoSQL technologies, especially Elasticsearch
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure software delivery
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
- Experience designing scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
- Familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA software guidance, IEC 62304)
- Experience with data streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub)
- Background in edge-to-cloud healthcare deployments
- Experience with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
- Exposure to AI/GenAI use cases in healthcare
Key Competencies
- Thrives in ambiguity and can independently drive clarity and direction
- Strong system thinking with a focus on scalability, security, and operability
- Ability to influence stakeholders and lead without authority
- Deep focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Strong communication across technical, clinical, and business audiences
- Ownership mindset with the ability to take solutions from concept to production
