Full Job Description
What you\'ll do:

We\'re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help drive feature development across our Android-based products, including both mobile and TV platforms. You\'ll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality, user-centric features using modern Android development practices.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new features across Android platforms, including mobile and TV.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Kotlin code using Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Continuously improve performance, reliability, and developer experience across devices.
  • Advocate for best practices in Android development and contribute to technical decision-making.
Who you are:

One of the best things about being a software engineer at The Trade Desk is the variety of technical opportunities available. We don\'t expect you to know every technology we use from day one-what matters most is your ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems using the best tools for the job. What you know is less important than how well you adapt, innovate, and think critically.

We\'re not looking for engineers who have all the answers-we need engineers who can invent answers no one has thought of yet and solve problems that haven\'t even been defined.

Our culture goes beyond just having fun together (though we do that well, too). We take pride in being trust-builders, generous givers, scrappy problem solvers, and relentless pursuers of excellence.

You don\'t have to meet every requirement below, but if you check most of these boxes, you\'re likely to thrive in this role.
What You Bring:
  • Strong experience in Android development with a deep understanding of the Android SDK.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, including Coroutines for asynchronous programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
  • Solid understanding of architecture patterns (MVI, Repository pattern, Interactors/Use Cases, ).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to mentor and support other engineers.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or interest in cross-platform development.
  • Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt or Dagger).
  • Experience with performance optimization, accessibility, and analytics.
