Your Role
At CBC/Radio-Canada, the Technology & Infrastructure Rapid Innovation Pod is an agile, cross-functional unit dedicated to accelerating the co-development of emerging technologies. Our mission is to explore technology pathways critical to our strategic goals and drive knowledge sharing across flagship projects.
As a Senior Analyst, you are the technical engine of our Innovation Pod. Your primary focus is validating new concepts through active experimentation — building test beds, running thorough evaluations, developing prototypes and conducting proofs of concept (PoCs). Working directly with emerging technologies, you will configure lab environments and document findings with precision. Your analytical rigour provides the critical insights needed to validate or disprove technical hypotheses, ensuring both speed and excellence for our innovation initiatives.
Your Responsibilities
Technical Execution, Prototyping and Test Beds
- Technology Deployment: Configure test beds, deploy hardware and software, and evaluate emerging cloud technologies to assess their impact on live and near-live production environments.
- Experimentation: Lead PoCs, lab trials and technical demonstrations while capturing performance metrics.
- Automation and Scripting: Prepare, code and document test scripts, lab configurations and deployment guidelines for prototype systems.
- Collaborative Design: Actively contribute to researching and architecting practical, innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.
Data Analysis, Reporting and Agile Tracking
- Hypothesis Validation: Meticulously record test results, isolate bugs and develop workarounds to rapidly validate or rule out technical hypotheses.
- Experimentation Velocity: Track technical milestones across test sprints, identify deviations or blockers against sprint goals and report them promptly.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Meet regularly with colleagues, system designers and project leads to review technical requirements, present experimental data and explore potential solutions.
- Technology Handoffs: Support transition and implementation phases by providing direct technical guidance to delivery and operations teams.
- Knowledge Base Maintenance: Maintain clear technical documentation (Confluence, wikis) to inform future architecture standards and operational best practices across the organization.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or a related field.
- One to three years of hands-on technical experience in software development, system administration or systems integration within an R&D or lab environment.
- Curiosity and Learning Agility: Proven ability to quickly master emerging tech stacks, software architectures and development tools.
- Collaborative Skills: Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Experience with DevOps practices and modern systems administration.
- Solid background in structured testing and validation methodologies.
- Practical experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong interest in technical innovation within the media, audiovisual production and creative tech sectors.
- Active contributions to open-source projects or technical communities of practice.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
