We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Structures & Pricing to join our Commercial team and report to the Vice President, Structured Trading & Analytics.
In this role, you will help drive AES's renewable energy growth strategy by supporting the structuring, valuation, and commercial analysis of solar, wind, energy storage, and thermal generation opportunities. You will collaborate across Origination, Trading, Engineering, Risk Management, and Digital teams to develop innovative solutions for a diverse range of customers, including hyperscalers, utilities, community choice aggregators (CCAs), data centers, and large corporate energy buyers.

Collaborate with commercial teams to design structured energy products, evaluate transactions, and develop valuation models supporting renewable and thermal generation opportunities.
Partner with Origination, Mergers & Acquisitions, Trading, and Development teams to create innovative commercial solutions for utilities, hyperscalers, data centers, and other large energy consumers.
Work alongside the ETRM team to support the implementation of approved commercial structures, valuation methodologies, and associated workflows across systems and analytical tools.
Partner with Risk Management teams to support model validation, risk assessment, governance, and decision-making processes.
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and automation of analytical models, workflows, and recurring reporting processes.
Support the development of scalable analytical capabilities that improve efficiency and commercial insight across the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physical Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience in energy transaction valuation, commercial analysis, quantitative modeling, structured products, trading, asset management, portfolio management, or related areas.
Knowledge of wholesale power markets, energy market fundamentals, pricing dynamics, or renewable energy economics.
Experience developing analytical or production-level models using one or more tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, VBA, or similar technologies.
Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Advanced degree (MBA, Master's, or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Exposure to U.S. wholesale power markets such as ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, NYISO, MISO, or similar energy markets.
Experience working with renewable energy projects, energy storage, structured transactions, risk management, or trading organizations.
Familiarity with automation, advanced analytics, data visualization, or commercial optimization tools.
