This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of enterprise data governance, partnering with the CDAO and business leaders to drive data lineage, metadata management, governance policies, and regulatory initiatives. Success in this role comes from combining strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a passion for improving how data is governed across the organization.

Develops and executes an integrated roadmap for data governance across Enterprise Risk & Portfolio Management (ERPM), ensuring risk data is governed as a strategic asset that supports effective risk management, regulatory compliance, risk reporting, and business decision-making. Establishes, maintains, and monitors data governance policies, standards, controls, and procedures to ensure risk data is secure, accurate, complete, timely, available, and fit for purpose.

Provides subject matter expertise on enterprise and risk-specific data governance requirements, including data ownership, critical data elements (CDEs), metadata management, data quality, lineage, and data control frameworks. Ensures that risk data management practices align with Enterprise Data Strategy, Data Risk Management requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.

Promotes a culture of strong data stewardship and accountability across ERPM by partnering with business, risk, technology, and data stakeholders to improve data governance maturity and reduce data-related risk. Supports the implementation and monitoring of data controls and remediation activities to address data quality, regulatory, operational, and reporting risks.

  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the ERPM Data Governance Program, including governance frameworks, standards, processes, controls, and operating models.

  • Partner with risk, finance, technology, and business stakeholders to establish governance over critical risk data used for risk management, regulatory reporting, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making.

  • Identify, document, govern, and monitor Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data lineage, business metadata, data quality controls, and data ownership within ERPM domains.

  • Drive adoption of enterprise data governance policies and standards while ensuring alignment with ERPM business objectives, risk management priorities, and regulatory obligations.

  • Establish metrics, monitoring, and reporting processes to assess the effectiveness of data governance practices and communicate data risk exposures, issues, and remediation progress to governance forums and senior management.

  • Conduct governance assessments, control reviews, and oversight activities to evaluate compliance with data governance requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to harmonize and standardize risk data definitions, controls, and governance processes.

  • Support risk data initiatives, regulatory programs, and strategic transformation efforts by ensuring appropriate governance, data controls, and accountability structures are in place.

  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and governance expertise related to data quality, metadata, lineage, data controls, and risk data management.

  • Independently assess complex data governance and data risk challenges, recommend practical solutions, and drive issue resolution across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Influence and drive organizational change to strengthen data governance capabilities, improve data management practices, and maximize the value of risk data assets.

  • Focus is primarily on ERPM, while contributing to enterprise-wide data governance initiatives where appropriate.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, making sound, risk-informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policies, standards, laws, and regulations.
