Job Summary:

The Senior Analyst drives reservation trend analysis, demand forecasting, and pricing strategy within the Revenue Optimization team, supporting the Rental Gear line of business. The role blends statistical forecasting, SQL and Excel-based financial modeling, and dashboard reporting to turn data into pricing and revenue recommendations, working closely with financial, marketing, and operational leaders to translate insights into action.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyze reservation and rental transaction trends across resorts to identify seasonality, demand drivers, and revenue performance patterns.
  • Build and maintain demand forecasting models (e.g., regression, time series) and pricing bridges (e.g., subseason, geography, resort mix) to guide pricing and revenue decisions.
  • Write Snowflake SQL queries and build Excel-based financial models to size new business opportunities, evaluate program performance, and support annual budget planning.
  • Use Tableau Prep and Tableau Desktop to clean data and build dashboards that translate analysis into stakeholder-ready insights.
  • Partner with Finance, Marketing, and Business Development to align forecasts, pricing recommendations, and new program business cases with broader business objectives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and actionable format.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across routine reporting and ad hoc analyses.


Job Requirements:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in pricing, demand forecasting, or revenue optimization.
  • Expertise in statistical forecasting techniques (e.g., regression, time series) applied to pricing and revenue strategy.
  • Proficiency in Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, Python (pandas), and SQL (Snowflake preferred) for data analysis and automation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formula-driven financial modeling and Power Query, to build business cases and scenario analyses.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets to deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Preferred:
  • Experience in market research, reservation trend analysis, or revenue optimization within travel, hospitality, or resort industries.
  • Experience building financial models or business cases to size new product or program opportunities.
  • Familiarity with business transformations that improve financial or operational performance.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.


The expected Total Compensation for this role is $77,841.00 - $111,201.00 + Annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a 'Hybrid' work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
