Full Job Description
The Senior Analyst, Revenue Accounting is a senior individual contributor responsible for the accurate, timely, and complete accounting of revenue in accordance with GAAP and company policy. This role owns the operational execution of revenue accounting and plays a critical role in ensuring revenue is reliable, auditable, and ready for financial close, reporting, and analysis.

This position serves as a key integrator across Revenue Recognition, General Ledger Accounting, FP&A, and IT, with deep ownership of revenue-related data flows and system behavior. The Senior Analyst ensures revenue accounting processes scale with the business, particularly as Lumexa continues to mature and optimize its Oracle environment.

Location: Raleigh/Hybrid; in office M-W

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Execute and oversee day-to-day revenue accounting activities, ensuring revenue is calculated, documented, and recorded accurately in the general ledger.
  • Own detailed understanding of end-to-end revenue flows, from operational source data through sub-legers, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Lead revenue-related close activities, including reconciliations, flux analysis, variance explanations, and issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with General Ledger Accounting to ensure alignment between revenue sub-ledgers, journal entries, and reported results.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with IT and Oracle teams on revenue data, system changes, enhancements, and cutover readiness.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, data issues, and control weaknesses within revenue accounting and drive remediation.
  • Maintain clear documentation of revenue accounting processes, assumptions, and handoffs.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to revenue accounting and data integrity.


COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) REQUIRED:
  • Strong technical knowledge of revenue accounting and practical application of ASC 606.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, close processes, and financial statement impact.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex system and data environments and translate data into accurate accounting results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Clear communicator able to explain revenue results and issues to accounting, finance, and non-finance partners.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA a plus.
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or related roles.
  • Experience supporting or leading revenue-related month-end close activities.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems; Oracle experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a public company required.
  • Experience in a complex or scaling business environment preferred.
