Full Job Description
What we are looking for:
The Fixed Income Credit Research team is looking to hire a Municipal Credit Analyst to contribute to the firm's municipal credit research capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the credit team, portfolio managers, traders, and additional stakeholders to support investment decision-making across municipal bond portfolios.
This individual will be responsible for conducting thorough credit analysis, developing thoughtful investment recommendations, monitoring portfolio holdings, and providing timely insights on municipal issuers, sectors, and market developments. The role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of municipal credit fundamentals, and the ability to communicate clear, actionable views to investment stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis across investment grade municipal sectors.
  • Develop and present investment recommendations related to the purchase and sale of municipal bonds.
  • Analyze portfolio holdings for existing and perspective clients to assess credit quality, risk exposures, and potential opportunities.
  • Perform sector reviews, identifying emerging risks, trends, and relative value considerations.
  • Provide prompt responses to portfolio manager and trader inquiries.
  • Maintain credit records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
  • 4-7 years of experience in municipal credit analysis, ideally with broad knowledge across multiple municipal sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, public policy, accounting, or another related field.
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills; progress toward or completion of the CFA designation is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of municipal securities documents.
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial, demographic, and sector information into clear investment views.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credit opinions clearly and confidently.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and prompting of large language models; knowledge of Bloomberg and Investortools is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to research, analysis, and documentation.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.


Additional Information:
  • Our workplace model includes 4 days a week in the office, Monday through Thursday.
  • The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. This role is also eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses and employee benefits. This salary range is for New York.
  • Position opening reason: Replacement.
